Director of Network Operations – Tempe, AZ

With long term targets and objectives set forth by senior operations leadership, the Director of Network Operations participates in the development of the network operations strategy and oversees a team to ensure that clients and third party DME providers receive a consistent level of high quality service and support.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Oversees the recruitment, selection, employee orientation, training, coaching and management for the network operations team. This may include but is not limited to organizing work and tasks within the network operations department.
  • Establishes and manages work flow across all department functions to include implementations, provider support, contracting and underwriting. This includes but is not limited to developing, documenting, communicating and enforcing consistent processes to ensure data integrity, quality of patient care, successful implementation of new customers, and the successful completion of internal and external assigned tasks.
  • Manages the network operations team and maintains oversight for network operations to ensure that administrative controls and work output are aligned with Company standards. On a regular basis, assesses department performance to standards and goals, redirecting as appropriate or necessary.
  • Documents and implements improvements in key processes, which may include collaborating cross-functionally with others to orchestrate the implementation of broad-impact solutions.
  • Responds to operational escalations and challenges from clients, third party providers and internal stakeholders. Identifies root causes and resolves issues to ensure operations and service integrity are maintained while implementing win-win outcomes.
  • Provides regular reports to senior leadership to demonstrate activity, trends and performance to Company goals and objectives.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the role include the following:


Education, Work Experience or Related Experience:

  • A thorough knowledge and understanding of operations and process management as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Operations, Finance, Management or a closely related field of study
  • The ability to oversee and manage multi-faceted operations is required as normally obtained through seven years’ of related, progressively responsible experience
  • Five years of experience directly managing others is required. Direct managerial experience of exempt professional level staff is strongly preferred
  • The ability to effectively execute operational directives as normally obtained by a progressively responsible service related experience in which the incumbent executed operations strategies and initiatives
  • Operational experience in a managed care or network management health care environment is strongly preferred
  • Operational experience in a software or technology environment is strongly preferred
  • Six Sigma or comparable training and experience strongly preferred

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • The ability to be proactive and self-directed utilizing good time management, decision-making, and organization skills is required. Incumbents must be able to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong leadership skills are essential as is the ability to accomplish goals through others. A collaborative approach to management is essential
  • Excellent leadership skills are essential as is the ability to accomplish goals through others
  • A demonstrated ability to resolve complex process/systems issues through the identification and analysis of problems from root cause to execution of resolution. Proven ability and expertise in implementing and institutionalizing operational initiatives with the ability to implement and manage comprehensive policies, programs and initiatives
  • The ability to present information and communicate to all levels and externally to vendors, clients and customers is essential
  • A high level of deductive and inductive reasoning, critical thinking, financial analysis and information analysis, planning and organizational abilities are essential
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow standard operating procedures with regard to patient data to ensure compliance with HIPAA is required

Physical Requirements and Demands:

  • This position entails a high level of work performed at a computer terminal throughout the day as well as moderate use of a telephone or headset equipment
  • Regular eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is required to operate office equipment
