Network Support Specialist – Tempe, AZ

This roles serves as a resource to Hospice clients and durable medical equipment (DME) partner Providers by performing
a quality review of orders received via the StateServ system, addressing issues or questions with orders, and providing training and education to effectively utilize the StateServ system.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Receives and reviews orders for durable medical equipment received via the StateServ system and performs a quality review to ensure the order is complete and identifies discrepancies or potential issues.
  • Contacts the order originator, whether a Hospice or DME partner Provider, to review incomplete or questionable orders.
  • On a regular basis reviews reports of outstanding orders and contacts DME partner Providers to increase awareness.
  • Acts as a resource for users by providing training, education and responding to system related questions.
  • On a regular basis, pulls completed orders for a billing period and performs a quality review to ensure the order is complete
  • Assists DME partners with special account research and/or analysis to understand data discrepancies, streamlining processes, and identifying process breaks that have impacted the ability to effectively reconcile bills.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the role include the following:


Work Experience or Related Experience

  • One to two years of experience in which incumbents regularly interface with customers (via phone or in person)
  • Experience in the healthcare or medical fields in which incumbents have gained an understanding of durable medical equipment is strongly preferred

Education, Licensure or Certification:


Work Experience or Related Experience

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • One to two years college is preferred

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • The ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow standard operating procedures with regard
    to patient data to ensure compliance with HIPAA is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills are necessary as is the ability to build and maintain professional relationships
  • The ability to speak and write in a professional manner is required to communicate with clients as described
  • Proficient and accurate typing/data-entry skills are required to record system information as described
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and a web browser is required to access and communicate information
  • The ability to perform basic spreadsheet functions, such as sort, filter, edit, remove or add rows, and sum data
  • A general knowledge and understanding of Hospice operations is preferred
  • Knowledge and familiarity with StateServ’s proprietary order management platform is preferred

Equipment:

  • Working knowledge of a PC, business and communications software (MS Office) and web-based tools are required
  • Familiarity with contact management software is strongly preferred

Physical Requirements and Demands:

  • This position entails a high level of work performed at a computer terminal throughout the day as well as moderate
    use of a telephone or headset equipment
  • On a regular basis, incumbent frequently performs repetitive motions at a computer terminal and is subject to
    prolonged sitting
  • Regular eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is required to operate office equipment
